AGI is helping Western Canadian farmers navigate storage challenges following a year of exceptional crop yields paired with softer commodity prices. In a recent interview with Amber Bell of RealAgriculture, Blake Taylor, Territory Sales Manager says, “A good problem that they had this year were phenomenal yields…the not-so-good problem? Commodity pricing.” This dynamic has pushed many growers to rethink their storage strategies to handle larger volumes efficiently.
He told RealAgriculture that one key consideration is transportation regulations, which vary by province and influence bin size choices. For example, Alberta growers often opt for 16-foot hopper combos due to transport cost efficiency, while Saskatchewan farmers can more easily move 24-foot units. These differences shape purchasing decisions across regions.
AGI offers a wide range of storage solutions, from small galvanized hopper combos to large flat-bottom bins constructed on-site. Installation options include ready-to-place smaller units or turnkey services for larger systems, complete with pads and concrete work. Taylor emphasizes that planning should also account for accessories like ladders, aeration systems, roof venting and unload systems to maximize efficiency.

As Taylor puts it, “We offer all the same accessories, from the smallest bin to the largest bin…time is money.” This approach ensures farmers can customize their storage setups to meet operational needs while maintaining consistency across their equipment lineup.
