Our engineering team are experts at designing specialty equipment for situations when standard products are just not available on the market.

The Opportunity

As the Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting the Division Controller in the preparation of financial and cost data. You will also be responsible for providing management with accurate information in the areas of costs, budgets, forecasting and to do so in an efficient manner..

The Team

You will report to the Mitchell Mills Systems Division Controller. You will work in collaboration with management staff by providing accurate information in the areas of costs, budgets, forecasting and to do so in an efficient manner. You will enforce standards and expectations by holding all levels of employees accountable for accomplishing business goals, specifically in project reviews and forecasting with the Project Management Group.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed review of all projects for hours worked, materials purchased, percentage complete, revenue to recognize, costs to accrue and understand variances between expected and actual project margins.
  • Keeps project managers informed on all aspects of projects costs and revenues and understands projects risks and their impact to the financials.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and cost savings initiatives.
  • Ensure documents and practices surrounding material integrity and inventory/asset management are in place and effective. 
  • Assist in month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, and compiling data for financial reporting.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for quoting systems, forecasting capabilities, and working efficiency.
  • Assist in creating proper internal controls in accounting operations.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of work experience in accounting, preference may be given to those with manufacturing or cost accounting experience.
  • Strong experience in ERP systems
  • Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively implement change.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with financial statement preparation, balance sheet reconciliation, and cost control management
  • Knowledge and experience with engineering systems with complex BOMs
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards
