The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Compliance Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering team at our Lenexa, Kansas AGI facility. In this role, you will work closely with both the engineering team and manufacturing personnel to execute and manage compliance towards UL, CSA, ATEX and other standards.

The Team

Our team consists of Engineers with diverse experience. We collaborate closely with the Product Managers and Production Department. This position will report directly to the Electrical Engineering Team Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Core team member in the development of compliant product for global markets.
  • Perform full cycle of electronics design: ideation, architecture design, major component selection, design documentation and specification, detailed design analysis using FMEA approach, test plan generation, and prototype validation
  • Generate schematic design, PCB layout design, Bills-Of-Materials, and other documentation to provide a complete electronic design description
  • Execute and manage internal product testing, evaluating products for compliance design criteria and communicating with 3rd party test laboratories like UL / FM.
  • Review product designs for Hazardous Locations against worldwide UL, CSA, ATEX, IECEx standards
  • Product validation and verification per FCC, CE, CSA, UL/cUL, ATEX standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required
  • Proficient in an electronics hardware design tool (Altium Designer is preferred)
  • Experience with compliance standards for hazardous location such as UL 1203, UL 913, CSA 22.2, EN/IEC 60079-0, 60079-1, 60079-11, 60079-31, FM 3616, FM 3600, FM 3615, FM 3610
  • Experience with CE compliance directives – Low voltage directive 2014/35/EU, EMC 2014/30/EU or EN/IEC 61000-4-x, Radio equipment directive 2014/53/EU
  • Experience with UL 508A industrial control panel compliance
  • Experience with RF module design, compliance testing including Cellular, 900MHz, 2.4GHz or 5GHz RF modules
  • Proficient in compliance standards and pre-testing experience with FCC, CE, UL, cUL, ATEX
  • Hands-on experience with engineering tools: multimeter, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, JTAG debuggers, logic analyzer, RF power meter, signal generator, load tester, data logger
  • Design experience with ESD, EMI and EMC consideration, signal integrity analysis and circuit simulation
  • Hands-on experience with IoT system design
