AGI Westeel's static head steel aboveground tanks are precision-engineered to meet the unique challenges of high-pressure filling applications. Designed for situations where the fill height creates additional static head pressure – 1 psi for every 3 feet of elevation of additional overflow – these tanks excel in environments where filling occurs from elevated positions, such as multi-story structures.
Our tanks are robustly constructed to handle the unusual static head pressures caused by filling from heights up to seven stories above. With a 3.5 safety factor (per ASME Section 8 Division 1 – designed but not registered), they ensure reliable performance even under the most demanding conditions.
Static head tanks are ideal for installations where tanks are positioned below grade within reinforced structures and filled from above grade. Typical installations include basements of commercial buildings, lower levels of parking garages, or other below-ground spaces requiring robust containment solutions.
Each tank features specially fabricated dished ends tailored for specific applications. The most common configuration is a horizontal, cylindrical design. In dual-wall tanks, the primary tank is constructed with dished ends, while the secondary tank typically has conventional flat ends. For applications requiring enhanced monitoring, such as vacuum-monitored interstitial spaces, both the primary and secondary tanks can be equipped with dished ends.
AGI Westeel static head tanks are available in UL/ULC-certified single- and dual-wall designs, including:
For specialized needs, non-code tanks are also available, offering flexibility without compromising quality.
AGI Westeel’s static head steel tanks provide unmatched performance and durability in high-pressure, below-grade installations, ensuring your fuel or liquid storage needs are met with uncompromising safety and precision.
