The Opportunity  

The Product Manager, Fertlizer Software will own the delivery and success of the PlantManager software and all underlying and associated software applications across AGI.  This will include  PlantManager, Junge Dispatch, Plant Operator, and all other legacy software packages.  This will involve creating a product roadmap that differentiates AGI’s products and positions them for both competitive bidding and breakthrough technology offerings. 

The Team

This role will report to the Vice President of Product Management, and will work on collecting VOC, writing requirements documents, and directing an engineering team to deliver quality products in a predictable manner.

 

Responsibilities

  • Be an expert in AGI’s control software applications.
  • Create the vision and product roadmap for the PlantManager software, including cloud-based offerings
  • Understand the design capabilities across our multiple teams in Marshall, IL, and our Lenexa, KS Center of Excellence, and build the team to realize the vision
  • Understand regional requirements and certifications, and build products appropriately
  • Create product requirements documentation
  • Prioritize the backlog
  • Partner with the development team to deliver innovative products and features
  • Identify partners/technology to further the adoption and supremacy of the platform.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field 2+ years relevant experience
  • 5+ years relevant experience as a Product Manager, with a proven track record of ownership and delivery.
  • Hands-on Industrial process control software experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to Prioritize, Manage Time, and focus on deliverables
  • Agile software management, primarily as a Product Owner
  • Expertise in requirements management software (JIRA, Agilo, SmartSheet, etc)
  • Ability to effectively gather VOC
  • Financial Acumen…ability to demonstrate business value and ROI.
  • Superb Written and Verbal Communication
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills – Ability to collaborate and lead by influence
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Experience with Business Development
  • MS Office Proficiency (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Teams)
  • Experience operating within a matrixed organization
  • Ability to thrive & grow in a continuously evolving environment
