The Opportunity

AGI is in search of a new Regional Sales Representative for the State of Missouri.  This Regional Sales Representative will report to AGI’s Portable Handling Products Group and will be charged with ensuring a strong, continued business from AGI’s established dealer network. A highly intrinsically motivated Sales Representative will be encouraged to identify strategic roadmaps for product development and market opportunities, making AGI the provider of choice within the industry.

The Team

The Regional Sales Representative is based out of the Decatur, IL warehouse, and reports to the Regional Sales Manager for Ag Growth’s Portable Grain Handling Products.  In turn, the Regional Sales Manager reports to the Director of U.S. Sales.

This dynamic team of currently 3 Sales Representatives covers territories throughout the U.S., including Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.  They will work collectively with Dealers and other Regional Sales Representatives across AGI to meet the growing needs of our customers. 

Responsibilities

The Regional Sales Representative will develop and execute strategic sales plans to promote customer satisfaction and continued growth for the Missouri territory.  More specifically, the Regional Sales Representative will:

  • Represent and market Westfield, Batco, REM and Hutchinson products and nurture the business relationships with current dealers. Ensure strong, continued business from AGI’s established dealer network and identify market opportunities for continual development.
  • Achieve sales goals for all products in territory.
  • Conduct dealer sales meetings and provide training to dealer personnel on AGI products.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with dealers to maximize market penetration of all AGI products. Establish a call program to take advantage of all opportunities within a designated area.
  • Keep direct supervisor apprised of relevant information regarding sales opportunities.
  • Provides information regarding competitive product and market developments.
  • Represent AGI at regional trade shows and conventions, support preparation efforts and post show reports.
  • Assist the Credit department with collections as required.
  • Collect and maintain a database of AGI customers to achieve top level customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain broad knowledge of AGI products and markets.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Candidates for the Regional Sales Representative will:

  • Possess sales and business acumen, ideally coupled with an Agronomy, Ag Business, Economics, Marketing or related Bachelor’s degree.
  • Have demonstrated achievements in providing sales growth and market capitalization, preferably for the Short or Mainline Ag Industry.
  • Have solid sales and marketing capabilities, with a good understanding of market segmentation, product line profitability analysis, and new product development.
  • Have some demonstrated experience and knowledge of financial statements, and how to read and interpret them.
  • Have a proven history of managing a complex sales and dealer network
  • Be well organized and pay close attention to detail.
  • Have superior customer relationship skills, including active listening.
  • Travel required 60-70% of the time within the region.

Ideally, candidates will be comfortable, through either professional or personal experience, working in the agricultural market segment, but this is most certainly not a requirement.
