The Opportunity 

This position will verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments including products, materials and documentation.  The role will also require general housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the dock and inventory areas. 

The Team

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the role will work with other departments within Airlanco to distribute documentation to proper personnel for continued processing.

Responsibilities

  • Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, packing slips or lists, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.                                  
  • Prepare documents, such bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.                                                                         
  • Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.   
  • Record shipment data, such as quantity, freight charges, for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes. 
  • Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.         
  • Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.                                        
  • Responsible for requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain stock levels.     
  • Notify and/or deliver materials to various departments and/or end users.  
  • Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as
  • hand tools, power tools, and postage meter.                                            
  • Clean and maintain along with organizational and interpersonal skills to coordinate with other department and outside waste disposal vendor.        
  • Distribute all original documents to appropriate personnel for further processing.
  • Coordinate efforts with others within Traffic Department.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One to two years related experience.
  • MS Excel and Word.
  • UPS Software.  
  • FedEx Software.
