The Opportunity 

We are actively seeking a Senior Electronic Hardware Test Engineer with responsibilities for design, evaluation, qualification, implementation, and lifetime support of custom hardware-based test solutions for factory and other cross-functional internal validation/engineering uses.  We are looking for someone proficient in in-process and end of line testing on new and existing products.

The Team 

The role will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, working closely with other members of the immediate & extended teams.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with Hardware Engineering to create test plans and fixtures for new products, as well as address test issues/gaps in existing products
  • Review and make necessary modifications to ensure safety on the production line
  • Design, implement, and enhance test programs written in LabVIEW for automated testing
  • Provide ongoing manufacturing test engineering support, product debug, resolution of technical issues, and documentation
  • Build, operate and document equipment to assess the functionality and performance of hardware components, prototypes, devices
  • Support Electrical Engineering and Embedded FW Development with QA Testing
  • Ensure data is properly captured, stored and visualized
  • Summarize results in reports and share them with the team
  • Come up with new concepts and ideas to improve testing capabilities and drive the realization
  • Assemble and disassemble prototypes and hardware devices
  • Create documentation for new test fixtures: schematics, programs, BOM hardware, instructions, and list of what is tested.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and comparative examinations from proof of concept to mass production
  • Ensure testing equipment validates design requirements
  • Collect engineering requirements for testing
  • Develop strategies to improve test throughput, robustness and to lower the cost/time needed to develop fixtures and processes for new product releases

Qualifications 

  • S. or B.Tech. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 7+ years related experience.
  • Experience with LabView
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment.
  • Experience with TestStand NI or similar
  • Experience with NI Requirements Gateway or similar
  • Willingness to participate in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
