The Opportunity  

The Product Specialist, Fertilizer Controls & Software will be responsible for ensuring technical support is provided to set up or troubleshoot hardware or software. They should be able to understand and explain all instructions found in the user manual. They must also be able to diagnose issues over the phone or by email and provide necessary feedback to aid the end user in rectifying technological problems.

The Team

This role will report to the Product Manager, Fertilizer Controls and be a part of a dynamic team of Product Specialists working closely together towards moving the organization towards efficiency.


  • Respond to emails from employees and customers seeking help with software- or computer-related issues
  • Learn the functions and back end of our software program so you can walk users through the steps to achieve specific goals
  • Aid the development team in conceptualizing updates and upgrades that will enhance users’ experience
  • Walk customers through the steps to achieve a goal in our software on the phone
  • Always maintain a high level of courteous customer service
  • Communicate with clients to diagnose technical issues
  • Provide step-by-step instructions to fix technological issues
  • Provide backup solutions whenever necessary
  • Provide training sessions for new hardware or software products
  • Access instruction manuals to help users utilize their software or hardware properly
  • Keep detailed logs of client problems, solutions, and customer satisfaction
  • Provide instructions in simple terms
  • Work together with other Technical Support Specialists to find solutions to more complex issues.
  • Responsible for following the company’s safety policies, procedures, and compliance rules.
  • All other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree in Information Technology, Software, or Controls preferred)
  • 4+ years’ experience in IT-related position
  • 4+ years’ experience managing databases
  • Familiarity with project management software a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Attention to detail, highly organized and (MS Office) computer literate.
  • Willingness and ability to train others
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Advanced skills with: Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Evening and weekend hours may be required.
