The Opportunity  

The Field Service Technician will inspect, test, and repair AGI SureTrack CMC’s hazard monitoring and grain cable systems in the field or at the factory. By applying the knowledge of mechanical and electrical (primarily low voltage) principles, the Field Service Technician will determine the cause of equipment malfunctions and restore the equipment to operation.

The Team

The role will report to the Marketing Manager, and will be accountable for safely inspecting and repairing AGI SureTrack CMC’s products and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field safety inspections of our customer’s Hazard Monitoring systems.
  • Provide training classes on proper installation and safe operations of our systems.
  • Promote the AGI SureTrack CMC brand in an articulate manner.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and low voltage electrical equipment, including, but not limited to programmable controls, power supplies, drives, gauges, test equipment, gate controllers, Hazard Monitoring and Grain Management systems.
  • Plan and perform work requiring knowledge of electrical and mechanical theories and principles, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
  • Install, start, and shut down equipment in accordance with AGI SureTrack CMC’s and our customer’s safety procedures and in line with OSHA and NFPA requirements.
  • Advise operators and operations managers of proper procedures and requirements for working safely with AGI SureTrack CMC equipment and components.
  • Maintain required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • Work and adhere to the utmost of safety standards always.

 

Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree, accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent professional experience in a related technical field.
  • Experience and the ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Computer experience and familiarity with MS Office suite.
  • Basic understanding of controls systems and PLC operation.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work safely and assertively under pressure and to adhere to project deadlines.
  • A thorough knowledge of electrical components and equipment including the use of test instruments for diagnostic purposes.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment to safely assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.
  • High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances is required.
  • Ability to climb and work on overhead structures, beneath machines and in close quarters while performing testing and repair work.
  • Ability to work and adhere to the utmost of safety standards in both the field and office.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% a month.
