The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Production Supervisor to join our growing leadership team at AGI – Swift Current, a division of AGI.  In this role you will pride yourself on being a hands-on supervisor with an open door policy.  You are noted for treating your team as family and getting to know what motivates them to succeed.  You will be a motivated go getter who has a track record of developing strong teams.

The Team

We are currently a dynamic team of 14 from varied backgrounds.  We collaborate closely with other Production Supervisors as well as the entire AGI- Swift Current Leadership Team. The Production Supervisor will report directly to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor will supervise the Shipping/Receiving and Crating team to ensure that all products are in the correct location at the correct moment and will require the following but not limited to:

  • Supervision of team members
  • Managing team members timecard use, including attendance, vacation time and overtime
  • Assisting with the selection and orientation of new team members
  • Ensuring training and development of team members takes place
  • Conducting performance reviews of team members
  • Cooperating with all areas within the company to ensure overall company goals are met
  • Implementing cost-effective procedures and process improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety legislation and procedures
  • Conducting team meetings as required

Qualifications

  • Experience in Manufacturing, Agriculture, Mechanical or Industrial industries
  • Innovative, ability to identify and implement new processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the team and project.
  • Developed communication skills, written/oral.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Developed decision making skills
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards etc.
  • Proficient in working with computers and various software applications.
