The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Production Supervisor to join our growing Fabrication team at AGI – Swift Current, a division of AGI.  In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that raw material is fabricated as per requirements by motivating individuals and ensuring that they are in the correct positions.

The Team

We are currently a dynamic team of 10 from varied backgrounds.  We collaborate closely with the Production Coordinator and the AGI- Swift Current Leadership Team. The Production Supervisor will report directly to the Production Coordinator. 

Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor will ensure the fabrication team is providing quality materials for the next manufacturing process in a timely manner, and will require the following but not limited to:

  • Supervision of team members
  • Managing team members timecard use, including attendance, vacation time and overtime
  • Assisting with the selection and orientation of new team members
  • Ensuring training that development of team members takes place
  • Conducting performance reviews of team members
  • Cooperating with all areas within the company to ensure overall company goals are met
  • Implementing cost-effective procedures and process improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety legislation and procedures
  • Conducting team meetings as required
  • Forecasting and scheduling to ensure deadlines are met on a continual basis

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing facility would be considered an asset
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Production, quality, and safety orientated
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Capable of trouble shooting and problem solving
  • Strong ability to lead a team and positively engage team members
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
