The Opportunity

AGI is in search of a new Assembler at our Horace, North Dakota Warehouse location. The Assembler will report to AGI’s Sr. Branch Manager and will join a dynamic team of currently 7-10 warehouse employees, providing best in class service to our North American portable handling customer base. The Assembler will read drawings, schematics and other specifications to perform various types of skilled repetitive workstation or line assembly operations. Additionally, they will receive, move and prepare shipment of completed agricultural equipment, and finished goods to support the product delivery process. Furthermore, the Assembler may assist by taking on responsibility and ownership of projects within the production line. This may require working with other departments to ensure production requirements are met.

Responsibilities

The Assembler will assist in the operation of the US Warehouse assembly line. More specifically, the Assembler will:

  • Reads and follows plans, material lists, guidelines, and follows established timelines provided by Assembly Lead or Branch Manager.
  • Assembles products according to specifications, and within specified tolerances. Consults Branch Manager when variances occur.
  • Fulfills all regular and advanced production duties in a timely manner, while adhering to company policy and procedures.
  • Performs assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools.
  • Operates both stationary and moving overhead cranes.
  • Operates forklift as required.
  • Cleans, assembles, disassembles, and replaces parts as required.
  • Keeps Branch Manager and/or Assembly Lead advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment according to 5S standards and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and makes necessary repairs, as needed.
  • Performs additional related duties as requested or required 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent experience
  • 1 - 3 years equipment manufacturing, mechanic, or farm machinery experience required.
  • 1-3 years forklift experience preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Mechanically inclined
  • Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, addition, and multiplications. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and follow blueprints, complex directions and sequential processes
  • Interpersonal, team and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to follow directions and demonstrate a willingness to learn
  • Detailed and results oriented. 

Ideally, candidates will be comfortable, through either professional or personal experience, working in the agricultural market segment, but this is most certainly not a requirement.
