The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join our team at AGI - Swift Current, a division of Ag Growth International Inc.  In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that we have the right product in the right place at the right time to support production and minimize costs. This role is very cross-functional as you will work closely with the Sales, Production, Engineering and Accounting departments. You will manage the purchasing function and tasks that are encompassed therein for the division.  In addition, you will partner with the leadership group to assist in guiding the team in the direction of success.

The Team

We are a dynamic team of 3 Supply Chain professionals from varied backgrounds.  We collaborate closely with all departments.  The Supply Chain Manager will report directly to the General Manager. 


The Supply Chain Manager provides leadership and day to day supervision as it relates to purchasing withing the division, including but not limited to the following:

  • Lead and support the Supply Chain team
  • Create and implement cost reduction initiatives
  • Negotiate price reductions with suppliers
  • Ensure suppliers remain compliant to commitments
  • Lead and support the application of contractual remedies against material breaches (claims)
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop strategy to minimize impacts
  • Develop new sources of supply and establish strategic alliances
  • Establish and maintain networks internally and externally
  • Support the business unit with appropriate sourcing strategies 


  • 3 to 5 years of work experience in Purchasing/Procurement, preference may be given to those with manufacturing experience
  • A professional and positive attitude and approach to work
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • An excellent memory and attention to details
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • Able to exercise good judgement and make necessary decisions
