The Opportunity

This role will be responsible for ensuring that we have the right product in the right place at the right time to support production and minimize costs. This role is very cross-functional, requiring coordination with the Sales, Production, Engineering and Accounting departments.

The Team

The role will report to the General Manager. The Purchasing team consists of 2 other individuals that have varying backgrounds. This position will be the leader within this Purchasing group.


  • Lead and support the Supply Chain team
  • Create and implement cost reduction initiatives
  • Negotiate price reductions with suppliers
  • Ensure suppliers remain compliant to commitments
  • Lead and support the application of contractual remedies against material breaches (claims)
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop strategy to minimize impacts
  • Develop new sources of supply and establish strategic alliances
  • Establish and maintain networks internally and externally
  • Support the business unit with appropriate sourcing strategies


  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • An excellent memory and attention to details
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • 3 + years in a Purchasing/Procurement role (Industry experience preferred)
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • Able to exercise good judgement and make necessary decisions
