AGI Nobleford is Canada’s largest manufacturer of grain aeration and natural air grain drying equipment under the Grain Guard brand name. We also manufacture Westeel smooth wall fertilizer and grain storage bins, as well as welded hopper cones. As a division of AGI we have dealers and distributors nationally and internationally fulfilling the needs of the agricultural industry worldwide. We currently have more than 120 employees at our Nobleford, AB manufacturing facility 20 minutes north of Lethbridge.

We are currently looking to fill the following position:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Human Resources/Safety Coordinator will support plant operations in recruitment, employee relations, employee and organizational development, performance management, occupational health and safety programs, WCB and disability management

Key Job Duties Include

  • Complete full cycle recruiting function for hourly and salaried staff positions including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviews and orientation for new employees
  • Lead and support the Health and Safety program by utilizing knowledge of WCB programs, health and safety legislation, and industry best practices
  • Create, amend, and enforce company policies through a strong understanding of Employment Standards, Payroll Legislation, industry standards and corporate requirements
  • Support employee development and improvement through training, communication, and performance management
  • Respond to all employee relations issues within the plant and engage excellent communication skills to help resolve issues in a fair and timely manner
  • Complete all administration duties for HR department including budget administration, training documentation, performance management tracking, disability management, and any other required administration
  • Advise on any changes to payroll legislation and employment standards
  • Plan and execute plant functions such as quarterly plant lunches and other Company events, and arrange participation in community initiatives

Key Requirements

  • Completion of Post-secondary education in a relevant Human Resources related field
  • 1-3 years of Human Resources and Safety experience is preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills complemented by exceptional communication ability
  • Strong computer and administrative skill set
  • A strong understanding of current human resources legislation, regulations, and practices including WCB/OH&S Legislation, Payroll Legislation, Human Rights Legislation, and Employment Standards Legislation
  • Experience with steel manufacturing processes and/or agricultural equipment manufacturing processes is considered an asset
