The Opportunity  

The Payroll Accountant will oversee and supervise the payroll functions of the organization, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

The Team

The role will report to the Controller, and work in coordination with the Finance and HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate and process the payroll
  • Monitor and accrue payroll amounts including benefits, vacation, etc.
  • Calculate the sales commissions for internal salespeople and dealers
  • Calculate the target achievement for installation and maintenance team
  • Review the hourly employee’s timesheets
  • Allocate taxable benefits to employees as applicable (vehicles, cell phones etc.)
  • Coordinate state filings for payroll and other taxes as applicable
  • Calculate the capitalizable salaries in accordance with IFRS
  • Support with the integration efforts for recent acquisitions
  • Miscellaneous projects as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years’ work experience in payroll processing, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • MS Office Proficiency (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Teams)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with process improvement
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly, strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong writing and record keeping ability
  • Excellent organizational skills to deliver high quality work within project timelines
