The Opportunity

This Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer is responsible for the development, specification, fabrication, and integration of manufacturing testing equipment, fixtures, and systems. This position is also responsible for programming test equipment and writing test scripts for automated test equipment.

The Team

The role will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, working closely with other members of the immediate & extended teams.


  • Support production floor operations with troubleshooting and by addressing testing equipment and process issues to ensure manufacturing safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met.
  • Coordinate all aspects of specification, construction, startup, and integration of new in-process and end-of-line functional testing equipment, including training operators and documenting proper use.
  • Review and develop Standard Work to support existing testing processes and new equipment.
  • Use LEAN methodologies to map, analyze, and improve manufacturing testing processes.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of manufacturing test fixtures and equipment, including schematics, test programs, bills of materials, and test coverage.
  • Develop schematics for and review existing test fixture designs; apply applicable design codes and standards: e.g. OSHA, NEC, etc.
  • Review functional product requirements and work with multi-disciplinary teams to create end-of-line functional test plans for existing products and new product releases.
  • Estimate cost factors including labor and material for purchased and fabricated parts.  Estimate costs for assembly and testing.
  • Communicate design-for-testing constraints and discuss changes in design, method of manufacture and assembly with design engineering and coordinate corrections.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.



  • S. or M.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering


  • Five to Seven years related experience.
  • LEAN manufacturing Green Belt preferred.
  • Experience with programming NI/HP/Agilent/Keysight and PLC equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment.
  • Willingness to participate in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


  • Valid driver’s license required.


        Computer Skills

  • ECAD Engineering Software for Schematics.
  • Test, Measurement, & Control Software; e.g. LabVIEW.
  • MS Office Applications.
