The Opportunity

In this role, you will lead project design assignments and contribute to the implementation of standards and best practices for drawing uniformity. 

Possibly up 10% of travel as needed.

The Team

The Danmare Group is comprised by a team of over fifty-five Professional Engineers, Designers, and Technologists whose credentials span the electrical, mechanical, civil, chemical, and construction disciplines required to service the specialized needs of the food and beverage industry. The full team comprises a diverse range of talent that allows us to offer the full spectrum of big picture process design to niche level materials handling.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply the Danmare ACAD Standard document to all drawings. Recommend improvements as required.
  • Develop and prepare engineering and architectural drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other data.
  • Work in a team environment and alert Project Engineers as to any layout issues that may exist in a drawing.
  • Prepare drawings required for building and other city permitting processes.
  • Conduct on-site verification of layout drawings as required.
  • Utilize knowledge of various drafting packages and software to complete drawings.
  • Prepare drawings utilized for tender documents which range from mechanical or electrical equipment installations to custom equipment.
  • Note corrections or questions on drawings legible for discussion with engineer responsible for drawing.
  • Delegate to project team with leadership.
  • Establish internal drawing standards and procedures.
  • Maintain and continually improve technical and professional abilities described above and required to perform assigned tasks.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, or Diploma in Engineering or Architectural Technology or equivalent
  • 5 years + previous design, drafting and architectural experience inclusive of responsibilities included in the Job Summary.
  • Familiarity with the applicable Building Codes (BC) and the ability to reference and check BC standards
  • Specializing in 2D & 3D AutoCAD Inventor, Revit software and SolidWorks
  • Strong written, verbal, mathematical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Management skills
  • Understand and efficiently use Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, AutoCAD, and Visio.
