The Opportunity

As the Head-North America Commercial Sales, you are responsible for delivering against annual sales revenue targets as aligned to business growth and profitability objectives, developed against relevant market share data.  Managing a team of sales professionals and collaborating with various functions across the organization, you are also responsible for strategic account management and overall customer management and satisfaction.  Your role also involves maintaining disciplined review of technical and operational contract, to identify and mitigate company risk.

The Team

Reporting directly to EVP, North America, you will be an integral part of the North American Commercial leadership team, managing a dynamic group of sales professionals and working collaboratively with all members towards achieving the AGI Commercial Sales objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team of sales professionals across North America including Strategic Accounts team and dedicated International accounts team.
  • Provide employee coaching and performance management for all sales account managers and strategic account teams.
  • Develop and direct all aspects of the North American commercial sales plan including end user and contractor development.
  • Responsible and Accountable for the development, management, and execution of a 3-Year Sales Strategy
  • Lead negotiations with customers, involving senior management and supporting functions, as necessary.
  • Review of commercial contracts, including complex terms and conditions.
  • Responsible for identifying and managing risk across technical, operational, commercial, and contractual parameters.
  • Communication of sales performance through KPIs to senior company leadership, including the Executive Leadership team.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Team to develop and execute a comprehensive Marketing Plan.
  • Provide feedback and input into Product Development Strategies and Plans.
  • Compile, analyze and distribute sales statistics.
  • Monitor accounts and assist with collections.
  • Manage trade shows, coordinating with all divisions and AGI Sales / Marketing
  • Evaluate sales effectiveness by region, division and major account and recommend improvements.
  • Gather competitive intelligence for strategic analysis. 

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Degree in Business or Engineering, credentials in sales management and agriculture equipment products
  • 10+ years relevant experience sales leadership role, preference direct experience in agriculture industry
  • Technical skill required to translate complex customer requirements into differentiated solutions.
  • Experience with complex technical customer contracts and legal frameworks.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strong negotiation and customer management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize requirements and manage time effectively
  • Proven ability to provide leadership to a team of geographically disbursed sales professionals
  • Superior business analysis and project management capabilities
  • Experience operating within a matrix organization
  • Effective collaborator across functional disciplines
  • Able to influence without direct reporting authority
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution
