Naperville, IL, April 16, 2026 — Ag Growth International (“AGI”) has reached a significant safety achievement at its Clay Center, Kansas facility, marking three years without a lost-time injury (LTI). In recognition of this accomplishment, the site received AGI’s top safety distinction—the Safety Standout Award—honoring its exceptional dedication to employee well-being and workplace safety throughout AGI’s global network.
“This achievement is powered entirely by our people,” says David Postill, Senior Vice President, North America, AGI. “Three years with no lost‑time injuries reflects a culture where employees look out for one another, speak up about risks and take personal responsibility for keeping themselves and their teammates safe.”
A LTI is a workplace injury that results in an employee missing work. It is a key metric used to assess safety performance and its impact on productivity. The AGI Safety Management System (ASMS), used across the company’s global operations, focuses on proactive risk identification, corrective action, and continuous improvement through both leading and lagging indicators.
“At AGI, safety is not just driven by programs, policies and processes, but by the daily choices our people make,” adds Postill. “The Clay Center team has demonstrated what is possible when safety becomes a shared value and a source of pride.”
AGI’s Clay Center facility dates back to 1958 when two local investors founded Hutchinson Manufacturing, Inc. and began building Hutchinson grain handling equipment. It was acquired by AGI in 2017 and now produces augers, bin unloads, bucket elevators, towers, catwalks, portable and stationary chain and paddles, and incline drag and En Masse conveyors.
“This safety milestone is a tremendous accomplishment by our entire Clay Center team,” says Mike Baker, Plant Manager at AGI Clay Center. “Achieving three years with no lost-time injuries takes everyone working together, every day, with a shared commitment to making safety our number one priority.”
“While we’re proud of this achievement, we see it as just the beginning of our journey toward eliminating all accidents,” adds Baker. “Our goal is to make safety a way of life—not just at work, but for everyone who walks through our doors. Safety first, always.”
From April 27 to May 1, AGI will mark its sixth global Safety Week, celebrating employee safety across all sites. AGI Clay Center is one of three facilities to receive Safety Standout Awards so far this year. Last month, AGI Lenexa in Kansas and AGI Swift Current in Saskatchewan also celebrated three years with no lost time injuries.
